Alright, alright. I waited a bit last minute. I threw these cute lil carrots together today, with just a few days until Easter, with the intentions of gifting them to my adorable nieces. I plan on filling them with some goodies, of course. These worked up super quick- I was able to finish two carrot pouches within 1 hour, all while chasing after my energetic 1-year-old son. These are perfect last minute pouches and can be gifted to family, friends, and even to all of your child’s classmates. I hope this pattern is easy for you to follow. Small amount of Red Heart yarn in Carrot, even smaller amount of Red Heart yarn in Spring Green.
Size H crochet hook
Half Double Crochet- hdc
Loop Stitch – loop st (there are LOTS of good videos on YouTube that are perfect for learning this stitch, if needed)
Slip stitch- ss
To begin, using carrot, ch 2.
Row 1. hdc 9 in 2nd ch from hook (9)
Row 2. 1 hdc in each st (9)
Row 3. 1 hdc in each st (9)
Row 4. 1 hdc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next, repeat around, 1 hdc in last st (13)
Row 5. 1 hdc in each st (13)
Row 6. 1 hdc in each st (13)
Row 7. 1 hdc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next, repeat around, 1 hdc in last st (19)
Row 8. 1 hdc in each st (19)
Row 9. 1 hdc in each st (19)
Row 10. 1 hdc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next, repeat around, 1 hdc in last (28)
Rows 11-14. 1 hdc in each st (28)
ss to next stitch, finish off. Attach green yarn.
Row 15. sc loop st around, leaving at least 2″ loops with each st, ss to 1st st, finish off (28)
Sew in ends.
Cut a 40″ strand of green yarn and use your darning needle to lace this strand in and out of the green row. Pull these strands to close your pouch. Trim excess if desired.
